Baby Pua's 1st Birthday Party

Once we were moved into our new house (yay!), we had a special "Pua" themed party for our sweet Baby Pua- Acadia turning ONE! Pua is the cute little pig from Moana so we decorated with Puas everywhere, on the walls, stuffies of Puas passed around, piggy noses on the bottoms of cups and we ate Kalua Pork 😆 and other Hawaiian foods.

Lot's of little Puas everywhere!

My sweetest little baby! I can’t believe you are already 1 year old! You are by far the happiest, most joyful baby I have ever known. You first smiled at 4 days old at Dadda and you haven’t stopped since. You’ll even smile at strangers, reaching your sweet tiny fingers to them and bashfully tucking your face into my shoulder while maintaining eye contact with them. When you are especially in a silly mood, you will squinch up your face in the Classic Castro Kid position with your gapped toothy grin and wrinkled nose. Or maybe open your mouth real wide with your lips curled around your teeth and chuckle a throaty “oauh oauh oauh”. Mama was your first word but Dadda quickly replaced it for months…until you found “Mama” again and then that was the only one. You are a Mama’s girl by far. Your first sentence (?) is a one word “where’diigo?” Or possibly an extremely distressed, “Mama!! Oh no…..Nana!!” when she accidentally nicked you with her fingernail. You nursed for a full year (yay!) and ate like a champ trying anything and everything. You know many signs like “milk, food, no touch, change diaper, medicine, all done, please and more. You listen well to instructions and get very upset when we call you out on your disobedience (which doesn’t happen that often, although you loooove remotes, what is with remotes?) You absolutely adore your big sister and big brother and they think you are the best thing in the world. We thought you’d be an early walker when you would pull yourself up to stand on tables and our legs and walk with us holding your hands, but so far it’s still just  a few independent steps that have satisfied you. No worries, you’re growing too fast as it is. Happy birthday little one!
